我才了解，一直以來努力的就是要證明自己。因為極度害怕發現自己不過是個笨蛋。

有的時候，會覺得非常非常孤單。試著在網路上尋找什麼，卻只更添寂寞。也許就像攀岩一樣。當我使勁向上爬的時候，有沒有可能，背包裡的東西也掉出了不少呢。

Thanks! This is amazing. What are we doing here? This is mad. We made this film two years ago. We shot on two Handycams. It took us three weeks to make. We made it for a hundred grand. We never thought we would come into a room like this and be in front of you people. It's been an amazing thing. Thanks for taking this film seriously, all of you. It means a lot to us. Thanks to the Academy, thanks to all the people who've helped us, they know who they are, we don't need to say them. This is amazing. Make art. Make art. Thanks.

Hi everyone. I just want to thank you so much. This is such a big deal, not only for us, but for all other independent musicians and artists that spend most of their time struggling, and this, the fact that we're standing here tonight, the fact that we're able to hold this, it's just to prove no matter how far out your dreams are, it's possible. And, you know, fair play to those who dare to dream and don't give up. And this song was written from a perspective of hope, and hope at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are. And so thank you so much, who helped us along way. Thank you.

 

日本搖滾算是我的啟蒙吧。高中的時候因為歐美正版CD很貴，而日本盜版CD便宜，開啟了我聽日本團的嗜好。也由於日本團許多是學英國團的，間接影響我熱愛英國團的口味。日本團中，我特別偏愛有可愛聲音女主唱+重口味背景的團，如judy and mary, the brilliant green, DAI, ...。今天無意聽到High and Mighty Color，勾起了我以上的回憶。而且，我發現他們的音樂還蠻多樣的。男女主唱的配置也很特別。 

 

Its about a year away for me to get out of here with a degree. Everyone is asking about my future preference. Whether I wanna go academic or industry; whether I want to stay in US or back home. I think my answer is getting clear: yes, I miss home a lot. I have my parents and best friends over there. But, I want to have a chance to know more of the world. I would like to have a chance to be part of somewhere instead of home, somewhere I will love like I love my home. I would like to know more people that can hang out with. More people that is not with the same color as mine but with the same mind as mine. I would like to see how I could fit into this world, how far I could reach, and how high I could fly. I would like to know more of myself, and let the world knows more about me.  

This dude is overwhelmingly charming for the reason I don't know. His proposal of change reminds me of A-Bian 8 years ago. It was a golden age of belief. Sadly its fading away. I wish if Obama has made it, he will be able to keep and make his faith come true. And I wish there will be some guy (like this guy?) could bring us dream to our Formosa.

Yes, its true. NY Gaints defeated unbeaten, 18 streak wins New England Patriots and become 42 Superbowl winner. Most people, though, may be really disappointed. They expected a perfect ending of a perfect season for Patriots. However, I am not one of them. From the last game they met, which is the last game of the regular season, I became a Giants fan. The reason is simple: they never give up. Before that game, Giants had already grabbed a seat in playoff. The result of the game was meaningless to them, especially the opponent was an undefeated team. However, contrary to everybody's prediction that they will send their second team and rest the starters, they fought with their best lineup upon players' request. They didn't want to give up. Although they lost in the end, and injured three starters, they proved that they were almost as good as the best team in the league, with only 3 points behind (35-38). They secured their confidence and headed to the playoff.

 

Nevertheless, even they were so close to win Patriots in the last game, no one gave credits to them that they could pass every opponent they met in the playoff: Buccaneers, Cowboys, and Packers. But they succeed in every game. They upset all favored teams and headed to face off the ultimate devil. And they won. With tears dropped from the eyes of wide receiver Plaxico Burress after the game, I almost burst into cry. I understand how it feels like when you fight with no one believes in you. And how hard it is to convince yourself to keep the faith that you don't even believe in. However, all those frustrations will only make the success more sweet. And only underdog will understand.

最近我看了兩部音樂電影，once and U23D. 先說once吧。雖然故事是講愛爾蘭街頭藝人與捷克已婚婦女間若有似無的情愫，整部片其實是一個又一個mv的集合。創作力旺盛的男主角藉由歌曲回憶他的前女友，也藉由歌曲向新情人表達愛意。對不喜歡看mv的人來說，看這部片應該會睡死過去吧。不過，裡面的歌真的是讓我回味無窮，尤其是他們在錄音室中所演唱的"when your mind's made up":(youtube真的什麼都有耶)

 

禮拜二早上，大雨。開學的第一堂課前，天色微亮。摸著黑打開電腦，我終於收到翹首半年引頸期盼的信-我的paper要發囉！

要怎麼樣從小說或電影中認識故事角色的個性與想法呢？以丁玲的短篇小說"夜"的摘要為例：

 

 

要描述一個人的個性與想法，一個就是直敘，一個就是以其行為來揭露其心思。上段中的第一句"並不想要這份突然得來的工作"就是直接說明他的心思。而最後幾句的敘述則是具體展現他只在意自己的心態。這樣簡短的文字卻活生生地將主人翁的心思帶入讀者的眼簾，正是閱讀的一大享受。而最近有一部電影，也帶給了我兩個半小時的類似體驗。就是色戒。

 

色戒中的許多場景，都明喻或暗喻著主角們的內心情感與想法。當王佳芝在最後一刻拿出身上的自殺藥丸卻沒有吃下，道盡了她對易的愛戀。志大卻軟弱的鄺裕民，總是只會說著空話而將王往火坑裡推。更不用提從第一場易極度不信任王的床戲，到後來王有機會刺殺他卻選擇繼續纏綿的最後一場床戲，仔細地刻劃了兩人感情的變遷。而床戲時陰森的配樂，讓主角內心變化轉折的表現躍出於肉體的交歡之外。對於那些著重在床戲的評論者，我只覺得他們可能沒有看懂。就好像看著一個早已吃撐的胖子仍拚命將美食往嘴裡塞般，有誰會在這時注意食物有多豪華？

 

就在這麼多細緻地刻畫下讓我深深感受到李安的厲害。也讓我接下來看廣受好評的atonement時差點睡著。同樣是不錯的故事，一樣有許多機會能刻畫主角的個性，我覺得atonement的導演更著重的是場景的變遷。對我來說，那些主角的個性仍是模糊不清。而看完色戒，我卻感覺完全認識了王與易一般。色戒也讓我了解到什麼是一部好電影-讓人看完忍不住回味再三，不停推敲內容而趣味更生的電影。

對於如何幫助落後國家發展，一種說法強調縮小科技差距-technological divide-的重要。該論點認為若能增加該地區人民上網吸收資訊的能力，對其國家發展也許有很大的幫助。"一個小孩，一部電腦"(One Laptop Per Child)的計畫便是在這樣的理念下產生的。這部計畫的主旨是希望藉由研發低成本的電腦並售予低開發國家，能幫助他們更容易接觸新的資訊。然而，這週六的WSJ報導了這計畫面臨了一個未曾設想的處境-市場競爭。由於這部電腦採用AMD的CPU，加上Linux的作業系統，這計畫無形中成為Intel及Windows的競爭對手。從未推出自產電腦的Intel甚至還首度推出了第一台Intel電腦-classmate-與這計畫開發的電腦競爭發展中國家的市場。由於Intel的電腦採用大多數人使用的視窗系統，加上考慮更多未來的電腦升級需求，classmate在許多國家打敗了計畫的電腦而拿到更多的訂單。加上計畫的電腦始終無法將成本壓低，使開計畫面臨了推動上的困難。該計畫的推動人，Dr. Negroponte便認為Intel嚴重打擊了他這項非營利的計畫。

 

但是，我認為這項計畫原本的主旨就是希望能有更多開發中國家的學童能夠接觸科技。在這個前提之下，他們使用什麼樣的電腦，及那個電腦是由誰來提供的，似乎並不重要。事實上，我認為這項計畫以經成功了。藉由增加市場的競爭，讓大公司們發現便宜電腦的廣大需求而增加更多相應的供給，不正是縮短科技差距的目標嗎？就算這個計畫最後破產，應該也算是一種求仁得仁吧。
